Collecting and Displaying Data
Collecting data with DataLogging Insight
Students can observe and measure rates of change, gradients of
graphs, sudden changes and discontinuities. Simultaneous Measurements
from several sensors may be studied in detail.
Displaying and exploring data
Aids for display and analysis are key features of the OEadded
value¹ that DataLogging Insight gives to experimental data
providing a rich variety of new activities for exploring data.
Data can be viewed in a variety of informative ways using colour-coding,
zoom effects, captions, joining points etc. These can help students
see more clearly the important features of experimental data and
look for patterns and trends.

Collecting data
- Collect data from a wide range of datalogging and sensing hardware
systems
- Capture data from remote dataloggers
- Collect data over short or long term intervals from a few milliseconds
to several days
- Direct data entry from a keyboard or as data files from other
software.
Displaying and exploring data
There is a choice of display formats:
- Graph with unique stretch and squeeze adjustments
- Bar chart with full range of analysing facilities
- Table with unique cursor and selection tools
- Model showing relationships between variables
- Dynamic bar display showing rates of change
- Large digits display, scalable to any size.
