Animated Graphics
Control Insight has a built-in library of
background pictures and images which can be assembled to make
a wide variety of scenarios featuring control.
In the Scene window, three types
of graphical objects can be placed in front of the background
picture:
-
Objects showing
or containing an input sensor or switch.
-
Objects
showing or containing an output device which does something
when it receives an electrical signal.
-
Objects which are
not active but are used for decoration to make the picture
look more interesting.
The available objects are shown in the
Gallery window. At any one time the Gallery
window displays a selection of objects of one type. The
type of object is selected using the [Sensors] [Devices]
[Objects] buttons below the title bar. Any object can be
selected and copied into the Scene window by a drag
and drop operation.
Every object in the Scene window is animated to show
its 'on' state or 'off' state. There are two aspects to
the animation:
These aspects can occur separately or together.
For an input object like a switch
or sensor, there are usually only two images; one 'on' image
and one 'off' image.
For an output object there is usually one 'off' image
and one or more 'on' images which are shown in succession.
For example:
Lamp: one 'on' image, to show the lamp in a lit state.
Buzzer: two 'on' images, to show the effect of emitted sound.
Motor: four 'on' images, to show forward/backward motion.
Construction menu
The individual images for a given object can be viewed and
edited using the Construction menu. This is not normally
displayed on the Main menu but it can be made visible as
follows:
1. Go to the Edit menu and select Options...
2. Set the check box for Enable construction and
click OK. The Main menu now includes Construction.
