Junior Datalogging Insight Focus on the Movie Window Graphics
The animation feature in the Movie Window is a major
innovation for motivating pupils interest in the information obtainable from sensors, tables and graphs in Junior Datalogging Insight.
Cartoon characters also help to display numbers in the Digits
Window.
Junior Datalogging Insight has 16 Movie Scenes to choose
from, so that you can view your graph data in a visual way.
For example
Open the Fireman.ism example file.

Click on a nudge curser arrow.

This gives you a cursor line for the graph window.
Move the mouse pointer to the graph window. A line appears
on the graph.
Move the curser to the left and right and watch the Movie
window.
When the data is at the left of the graph (lowest data) the
fireman is at the bottom of the ladder.
When the cursor is at the right of the graph (highest data)
the fireman reaches the cat and carries her down the ladder.
The cartoons in the Movie Window can also display live data
collected from attached dataloggers.
The cartoons can also be displayed by the data in the Table
Window.
The other Movie Windows work in a similar way, showing the
data rise and fall by slowing down or speeding up or changing other movement on
the screen as appropriate.
If a Movie Window is not already displayed, go to the View
menu and choose Movie.
A few of the Movie Window examples let you compare two sets
of data against each other.
For example see Dragon 3.ism where the two dragons race each
other:

To change the animated cartoon which is displayed in the
Movie Window, click on the Movie Window and change the choice in the Movie
dialogue box which is displayed.

Focus on the Digits Window
For some users a large clear readout of the data being
collected or analysed can be useful. In Junior Datalagging Insight you can show
a large Digits Window and link the display to characters used in the Movie
Window to help make the display even easier to follow.

If the Digits Window is not already displayed, go to the
View Menu and choose Digits.
Right click in the Digits Window that appears and choose
Pictures. A dialogue box will appear to let you link suitable graphics to your
data.
