Step 1 Creating
a single frame picture
| Start LogoMotion by double clicking
on its icon. |
| Click on the File menu .... |
| ... and choose the Open... sub-menu:. |
| As you can see DOGGIE.GIF contains
three frame items. Note: Frame items are always played
automatically one after another.
To use only the shape of a dog as a picture a single frame is
enough.
Select the second and third frames by
clicking on the second frame and keeping the SHIFT button
pressed click on the last frame, then press the DELETE button. |
| As you can see, a single frame remains. |
| Now save this for later use. Left click
on File menu and select the Save As... sub-menu. |
| In the file name box instead of DOGGIE
write MYDOGGIE and click on the Save button. (We
have saved the developed file as DOGGIE1.) |
Step
2 Creating
bi-directional character animation
| DOGGIE.GIF has three frames of
character animation of doggie going to the left. We shall prepare
this character animation for the other direction as well. So, first
you need to duplicate the frames. Right click on the frame name
Frame1: |
| Select Copy
in the Edit sub-menu: |
| Then again click on Frame 1 frame
name, and in the Edit sub-menu choose the Paste After function: |
| Now you can see that two identical frame
series exist. The direction of one of the series has to be changed
to get the two different directions. Select the whole frame series
by clicking on the first frame and keeping the SHIFT
button pressed click on the last frame: |
| The direction of the Frame 2
picture series has to be mirrored horizontally: Right click on the
frame series and select within the Organize sub-menu the Transform
function: |
| Click on Horizontally and then on
the OK
button: |
| You can see that the Frame 2 picture
series now has changed direction. Now adjust the directions of the two
frame series.
Right click on Frame 2 name and choose the Heading mode
function. |
| You need to adjust the desired angles:
choosing the right direction it should go right, while choosing the
left direction it should go to the left. Right click on 0 and
choose the Set Zero Angle ... function. |
| In the opening window adjust the value 0
to -90 (This is not so evident. Try some other numbers as
well and see what happens.) and click on OK when you are
satisfied. |
| You will see that the directions are
properly adjusted. Make sure you save this file as a .LGF file.
Left click on the File menu and select the Save As... sub-menu: |
| Choose the LogoMotion Image File (*.lgf)
type: |
| Click on the Save button to
save the file. Try out your creation!
Note: Check to see that frame items are always played
automatically one after another. While frames are selected depending
on a situation (direction) or invoked sequence. (We
have saved the developed file as DOGGIE1.) |
Step 3 Creating
finely tuned turning animation
In case of SPIDER.GIF you need to
create 12 different series of frames. This would take a lot of time. But Imagine has a function to help with this and generate for
you the needed frame series turned in the proper directions.
Right
click on Frame 1 and select the Heading mode function. |
| Right click on Zero angle and choose the
Organize sub-menu and choose the Generate... function. |
| Here you have to adjust the count of
frames to 12, the rotation angle to 360, then click OK. |
| As you can see 12 different frames are
created. Now you need to turn them into the correct direction:
frames should look into the direction their frame items are heading
to.
You need to change the Zero degree to 90: Double click into Zero
angle and change the number 0 to 90. Press ENTER
to finalise this. |
