THOMAS THE CLOWN
 Released this month from Logotron is Thomas the Clown, an exciting,
high quality education software program on CD ROM. Developed for nursery
and pre-school children from as young as 4 years, it is also valuable
for use with older learners up to 8 years.
Thomas the Clown is based on the principles of having fun
in problem-solving and exploration and is particularly suitable for children
who are about to start school. It is packed with sound educational "games"
and 'Thomas', the lively character on screen is guaranteed to entertain
enquiring young children whilst they are learning. There are five, games
environments with a number of skill levels, which use animation and speech
to develop children's ability to understand colour, shape and pattern.
It also develops the important thinking skills of logic and sequencing.
 Each game is activity based and has up to five skill levels. The games
are Funny Faces (pictured), Ice Cream Break, Postman Thomas, Building
Blocks and Strawberry Garden. All feature fully interactive and stimulating
challenges. Each will help to develop important IT basics that all children
now need at school. Children can also print out each game after they've
completed each level.
Thomas the Postman game: Can you work out Thomas' route to deliver
letters to his friends in the Kingdom of Colour?
Help program Thomas' route to deliver letters to his friends. Simply
click on the coloured roads and 'program' the way to each house. The basic
level will allow Thomas to 'instruct' the child on how to complete the
task. Each level thereafter will be more complex making the child work
the task out for themselves. If help is required, just click on Thomas
and he will repeat the instructions.
