Torfaen Lea puts Logotron's Imagine Logo software into all its schools

Paul Martin, ICT Adviser for Torfaen LEA, has been quick to spot the vast potential and excellent value of Logotron's Imagine Logo title and to this end, supplied it to all schools in Torfaen.

Having begun by using Imagine Logo in Mathematics for its enhanced logo functions (including object-based programming; one-click procedure facility, where the turtle will carry out its procedure when it is clicked on; multi-turtle programming; and animated turtles), he is now exploring the rest of "the ice-berg", across all areas of the curriculum.

For Paul, Imagine Logo's real strength lies in its easy accessibility to all users and its uncapped potential for those who those who like to think 'outside of the box': "Staff will be able to build confidence slowly with simple functions…before unleashing the potential of its multi-media capability".

As a multi-media presentation package, Imagine Logo can be used to create simple or complex presentations for any lesson, at any curriculum level. Teachers can create resources and pupils can create projects, incorporating video clips, animations, sounds, melodies and multiple linked pages. It is the ideal tool for extending the curriculum through focused ICT.

Furthermore, any interactive resource or project can be saved as a web-page, creating immediate materials which can be accessed through a browser and shared across the community. With broadband technology becoming increasingly available to schools, Imagine Logo has provided teachers, pupils and LEA advisory staff the opportunity to create interactive online content.
