Primary School Picasso's

Spaldwick Primary School, near Huntingdon, has
won first prize in a national Win an Artist competition
run by Logotron Ltd. The prize was a school-wide installation of
Revelation Natural Art and an artist in their school for
a day, supplied by Artists-in-Schools.

Key
Stage 1 and 2 pupils were asked to submit a portrait picture created
on a computer. The winning portrait by Laura and Eleanor was chosen
as overall favourite because, quite simply, everybody who looked
at it chuckled with delight. Laura and Eleanor have now moved on
to Secondary School but were invited back for the day to enjoy their
prize.
Spaldwick
Primary have decided to use their prize as part of their Big Art
Week which started the 21st June. The Artist and children
ended the week in style on the 25th June with a large
mural in the playground, which is planned to remain as a permanent
feature.
The artist for the day was Alexandra Baraitser.
Alexandra is a painter/ muralist with a BA and MA in Fine Art: Painting.
She has carried out many workshops including the design, collation
and execution of murals adapted to suit all age and ability groups.
