Viewpoint runs fine as Administrator, but wont run as a User.
This is usually a permissions problem. You must first check that the folder C:\Program Files\Viewpoint has its Security settings set to "Full Control" for users. If that fails, what you need to do is create an new folder on the Manager machine / server in C:\DocumentsAndSettings\AllUsers\SharedDocuments e.g VIEWPOINT. Install Viewpoint into that new folder. On the pupil machine create a shortcuts from ViewPnt.exe on the server to the pupil profile and rename it to something like Junior Viewpoint. [Back to top]
How do I customise the Header in List View?
Go to the List view then to Layout mode and up to arrange and de-select the header and re-select it again... This will restore a blank header, but without the field names! If you want to restore the field names you have to go to "collums", remove all selected, and re-select the chosen collums. [Back to top]

This happens with a couple of graphics cards S3 Prosavage card for one. You need to turn down the hardware acceleration by two notches, to do this right click on your desktop and go to properties. Then click on the settings tab. Click on the "advanced" button, a window will open and at the top you will see a "Troubleshooting" Tab. Select that and adjust the slide down by 2 "notches". After installing and running fine as Administrator, the installer is running and failing as restricted user.
The problem is that RNA is trying to install the shortcuts in to the Start bar, and you do not have permissions for that area. If you have a windows2000 server, I would recommend you installusing the MSI. Alternatively you could login as Administrator and create the shortcuts manually in the Start Bar. The installer is a "Self Repairing Installer" and therefore the shortcuts must be in the start bar otherwise you will always get this problem. See below for examples of the shortcuts. [Back to top]
I get the error "error 1320 The specified path is too long N:\My Paintings"
What you need to do is create an new folder on the Manager machine in C:\DocumentsAndSettings\AllUsers\Documents e.g RNA. Install Revelation Natural Art into that new folder. On the pupil machine create the short cut below from NaturalArt.EXE to the pupil profile and rename it to something like RNA - simple, RNA - Junior, RNA - Advanced.
When I install RNA I get an error saying I need more than 256 colours to run this program?
This could be caused by a few things. Here are a couple of things to check. If you are installing on XP, make sure you are the only person logged in. XP supports multiple logins and this error appears if Administrator and a user are logged in. So reboot your machine and re-login. There are some onboard graphics cards that have caused this too. E.g. Intel and SiS. Try updating your device drivers by going to your display settings – then advanced. Click on the Adapter tab, then click on properties, click on the driver tab and then the update driver button and follow the onscreen prompts. You will need to be connected to the internet. I have installed the software correctly and I have selected the correct interface for my hardware, but it still wont connect, why?
There are several reasons for this, Please check the following:
1. Have you selected the correct interface in the interface menu (File --> Interfaces)
2. If you are using a USB to Serial convertor, you MUST install the software that comes with the lead. Once you have installed this software, it will have installed a "virtual COM port" this is the port number you must select in the interfaces menu. NOT USB.
3. If you are using a Whiteboard, Please disable the software in the system tray and try to connect again. www.gizmohosting.com
I am trying to install the software onto a Windows 98 machine which has Winsuite on it, at 98% it says that cannot find path H:\\battery.ism?
The solution is to make Winsuite look at the My Documents on the C:\ rather than the network location of "My Documents (H:\ for example) because Insight writes the examples files to this area, one of those being battery.ism. If you then install the software and specify my documents back to H:\ the program will install and run correctly. It is also advised to move the Insight Files folder from C:\ My Documents to H:\ My Documents as it contains all of the examples and set-ups. [Back to top]
How can I get the background displaying properly in screen resolution 800 x 600?
This is due to the fact that Magic Forest remembers the screen resolution of the machine when the program installs and does not change. To get around this the software would need to be re-installed at the lower resolution. Then reset your screen resolution to the desired resolution. [Back to top]
